Why do Premiums change?
Being a not-for-profit health fund means we’re always looking for ways to keep premiums as low as possible. While this means premiums can sometimes stay the same, there are many factors that contribute to increases in the cost of healthcare.
Below you will find your benefit updates and changes to Fund rules. Please note there are also minor edits, including grammatical and spelling changes, that will appear in the Member Guide, effective 1 April 2025. These changes do not impact your benefits or Fund rules.
Benefit updates
Updating our Financial Hardship Suspension Fund Rules
Maintaining your private health insurance provides peace of mind for life’s curveballs. To support our members through the cost-of-living crisis, we’ve updated our Financial Hardship Fund Rules to provide more flexibility for members experiencing financial hardship, but doing their best to remain active with their cover.
These changes are effective 1 April 2025. The change is automatic, so no action is required. If you'd like to learn more about our financial hardship options, we encourage you to reach out to our local Cover Confidence team on (08) 8225 9675.
Updating our Fund Rules for Adding a Newborn
To support you during an important life moment, we’ve made changes to encourage leniency to the timeframe to add a newborn dependant to your cover. This means that the timeframe to add a newborn dependant to a policy will be extended to allow more time as outlined below.
This change is effective 1 April 2025. The change is automatic so no action is required, but if you would like to discuss your options, you can call our local Cover Confidence team on (08) 8225 9675.
